Blockchain tracing
What the work involves
- 01
Reconstruct the full transaction graph from your initial transfer, forward through every hop.
- 02
Apply clustering heuristics to group addresses under common control, so a hundred addresses resolve to a handful of actors.
- 03
Follow value across chains through bridges, swap protocols and centralised conversion points, which is where most amateur traces stop.
- 04
Identify terminal points: regulated exchange deposits, over-the-counter desks, mixing services or dormant storage.
- 05
Correlate on-chain findings with off-chain infrastructure, so an address becomes attributable to an operation rather than floating free.
What this cannot do
Tracing tells you where funds went. It does not, by itself, get them back. If value entered a mixing service or an off-ramp in a jurisdiction that will not respond to legal process, we will tell you that the realistic outcome is documentation rather than recovery, and we will tell you before you spend money finding out.
